Choosing places to eat, particularly for a large group, can be problematic. The list below indicates places where we ate either as a whole group or separately, depending upon our accommodation. It was useful booking in advance, particularly at the weekend, as the places mentioned below were all quite busy.

East Wallhouses - Robin Hood Inn
Chollerford - The Crown Inn, Humshaugh* or The Hadrian Hotel
Once Brewed - Twice Brewed Inn
Gilsland - Brookside Villa or The Samson Inn
Walton - Low Rigg Farm or Sandysike
Carlisle - The Gilded Lily - but there were many more in the same area of the city
